Wimbleball phantom open
« on: March 05, 2015, 04:21:54 PM »

All,
After a recent conversation with Gordon @ wimbleball if appears they have scheduled a phantom open for the Saturday 21st March. This is the day before the beastie which I had scheduled as a southern event.
As the phantom event on the Saturday has been organised I'm moving the Southen event to the Saturday 21st and not the beastie. You are all welcome to stay and do the beastie aswell, up to you.
I can only apologise about the confusion but I only found out about the open they has planned this week.

Anyone going to Wimball and the Beastie?  Thinking of making the trip up from Plymouth but only back from Australia a couple of days before, so need a good reason ie a few boats to compete against to try and get a pass and work through the jet lag!

There is 2 coming from Bowmoor and 2 I think from Shoreham for the open Saturday.
I'm not sure how many home boats wimbleball have nowadays. I know simon Hawkes is there

It's always worth doing Neil even if just for the experience, probably one of the closest events to you. Worth staying on the beastie if you can as well, it's a monster event that's well worth doing

I'd have thought so with Wimbleball, they are normally pretty good at that sort of thing

top tip, if you've got yourself a new towing car with a fancy electrically deployed tow bar check that a winter's worth of road grime and salt etc hasn't gummed up the works more than a day ahead of needing to use it!!!!!!

Neil 1384 not making it to wimball
